It was just like any other summer day..
Like a summer day in our adolescence, when we both co-incidentally were having a sleep-over at the same house of a brother/sister friend..
Like a summer day years ago.. when i was still dressed in sch uniform and chasing after a shuttle bus with her.. I caught up to it just in time, to ask the uncle to wait a while for the girl who was just a few paces behind me.. Back then, i felt like a hero who had just saved the day..
Like any other summer day.. while i was dressed in army garb, and she beamed a smile at me while we were on the lift together.. It made me wish her parents weren't there so we could have a conversation that was purely between us..
Just like any other summer day..
Funny isn't it? that on the summer day where i finally remembered your name, I'd no longer be able to call you by it..
On this typical summer day, I saw your face in the papers..
My prayers are with you,
Jacklyn..
