Hehe.. i know i'm a little slow.. but there's alot of movies i'm itching to watch.. one of them was "Step Up" which i missed last year, as a results of exams being so close by =X i still remember how the ads for this movie would flash on the Macdonald's tv while i was studying maths or doing GP essays there..
So yesterday.. after i met Amberlyn to pass her some animes discs from my little collection (yes.. its quite a small one actually.. but if it was any bigger i doubt it'd fit into her handbag =X ), followed her arnd.. and even got her signature on my Death Note =P
haha.. yes.. it was a little bit of a dream come true.. but it was an old dream.. one i'm glad i got the chance to experience.. but thats about it i guess..
I pop-ed by the VCD store at Yishun after that.. and it suddenly struck me that i could catch up on alot of movies i longed to watch for quite a while.. why.. they even had DeathNote the movie for dvd already.. thats when i approached the counter and enquired about this little movie of mine.. and for $15, i could finally sastisfy my curiosity..
STEP UP :
Everyone deserves a chance to follow their dreams, but some people only get one shot. Tyler Gage is a rebel from the wrong side of Baltimore's tracks and the only thing that stands between him and an unfulfilled life are his dreams of one day making it out of there. Nora is a privileged ballet dancer attending Baltimore¹s ultra-elite Maryland School of the Arts -- and the only thing standing in the way of her obviously brilliant future is finding a great dance partner for her senior showcase. When trouble with the law lands Tyler with a community service gig at Maryland School of the Arts, he arrives as an angry outsider, until his skills as a gifted street dancer draw Nora's attention. Now, as sparks fly between them, both on and off stage, Tyler realizes he has just one performance to prove that he can step up to a life far larger than he ever imagined.
It was a movie i truly enjoyed watching.. and although the acting could have used a bit more drama.. i'd still say it was a good watch.. man, what have i been missing all these while? when i was busy with sch-stuff and what-nots.. maybe i shld be making this vcd buying thing a tradition every weekend.. i bet i'd be able to find Narnia in a shop somewhere too..
Stunning.. I wish i could learn how to dance like that.. with flawless elegance.. enchanted grace.. i know i'm still a long way off.. my fitness level could use some work 1st =X but then again.. isn't that what NS is for? not like i'd be free enough to pursue this (hmm.. dream?) hobby until i ORD..
is it possible i could be part of a dance crew in the near future? Theater and Dance.. both seem to be an epic tale just waiting to begin...
